The Alberta-based Eagle Builders are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a new mobile crane from Liebherr.
Created in 2000, Eagle Builders specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication and building of precast concrete structures.
Quickline Crane, a subsidiary of Eagle Builders, serves the heavy lift requirements for the parent company.
As the company’s project requirements are getting more complex and higher load capacities are demanded, the company has purchased a Liebherr mobile crane LTM 1250-5.1. The 250 tonne crane fully meets the demands of Eagle Builders.
“We looked at the market projection and what we had coming up for projects and decided now was a good time to purchase a larger crane,” said Craig Haan, director of Quickline Crane and Eagle Builders.
“We looked at many options but ultimately decided that a 300-tonne mobile crane was the right choice. From both a lifting capacity and mobility within seasonal road bans – This crane checked off the requirements.”
The new LTM 1250-5.1 is the largest crane in the Quickline Crane fleet and will be utilized on major Eagle Builders projects.

The five-axle mobile crane has a 60 metres telescopic boom, a maximum hoist height o 108 metres and a maximum radius of 96 metres.
VarioBallast enables the crane to deliver maximum load capacities with a large ballast radius, making it perfect for use on constricted sites with a small ballast radius. It enables each outrigger to be extended to a different length. This enhances safety – particularly in constricted spaces.
The LTM 1250-5.1 is also equipped with ECOdrive, which makes the crane more comfortable and quieter by reducing engine speed. Faster gear shifting delivers greater dynamic and traction when travelling off-road. On the road, the torque from the Liebherr diesel engine is used to reduce fuel consumption.
Furthermore, the crane’s ECOmode minimizes fuel consumption and noise emissions when operating the crane superstructure.
