Ditch Witch has introduced the RT70 ride-on trencher. The newly designed trencher is equipped with features that Ditch Witch claims will increase operator comfort and visibility.
Furthermore, the operator station features an open layout with a 120-degree swivel seat, more leg room and intuitive controls.
Enhanced visibility gives operators full view of the machine, which could help operators of any experience level increase their productivity.
Also, the RT70 includes a patented cooling fan to reduce temperature levels in the operator station by moving hot exhaust out of the side of the machines rather than toward the operator.
“At Ditch Witch, we understand the challenges that electric and fiber contractors face daily,” said Steve Seabolt, product marketing manager, Ditch Witch Organization. “The RT70 is compact and maneuverable, yet powerful. This new unit, and its unique features, will allow the operator to tackle tough jobs in tight conditions.”
Powering the RT70 is a 72hp Yanmar® Tier 4 Stage V Compliant diesel engine.
Also, it is built with a narrow footprint of 73-inches wide, which makes it able to maneuver around tight jobsites.

The RT70 features an easy-to-access location and a single-piece, easy-open hood.
Ditch Witch claims that this design will offer fast and simple maintenance.
Customization
The option of crab and coordinated steering modes allows operators to turn with a steering wheel rather than separate levers.
The machine’s modular design features a single base unit with the option to move from tires to tracks.
Also, the RT70 comes with the option of different attachments and a variety of add-ons.
So, Ditch Witch claims that operators can endlessly reconfigure the machine throughout its lifecycle to customize it for specific jobsite needs.
The RT70 is the latest addition to the Ditch Witch lineup of ride-on trenchers, which includes the RT45, RT80, RT120 and RT125.
