JLG redesigns three of its SkyTrak telehandlers

The next-generation SkyTrak telehandlers complete the full remodel of JLG’s North American lineup

JLG Industries has redesigned its SkyTrak 10042, 10054 and 12054 telehandlers for the North American market.

As part of JLG’s full SkyTrak telehandler line update, the three next-generation machines deliver new technology and updated serviceability.

Purpose-built for demanding construction, infrastructure, industrial and material-handling applications, the refreshed models offer up to 5,440-kg lift capacity and up to a 16.2-metre lift height, making them ideal for lifting heavy pallets, staging materials, supporting steel erection and handling large equipment on modern job sites.

“Completing the redesign of the SkyTrak telehandler lineup represents a major milestone for the brand,” said John Boehme, Senior Product Manager for telehandlers at JLG.

“We engineered these updated SkyTrak 10K and 12K telehandler models with advanced technology and functional updates inspired directly by customer feedback, supporting productivity and operator confidence without compromising the workhorse reputation SkyTrak is known for.”

The remastered SkyTrak 10042, 10054 and 12054 models are powered by a Tier 4 Final Cummins F3.8 110-hp diesel engine and equipped with a four-speed Powershift transmission featuring new SmartShift technology, which automatically shifts between third and fourth gears to support efficient operation.

The telehandlers also feature reimagined technology, including a new advanced control system with updated diagnostics and expanded functionality, optional Load Stability Indication (LSI) and Seatbelt Engagement and Operator Presence (SEAOP) technologies.

LSI helps operators work with greater confidence by sensing forward load capacity and displaying visual indicators, while SEAOP provides visual and audible alarms and limits certain machine functions when operator engagement requirements are not met.

The updated cab design delivers more information at a glance with a larger LCD display and improved single-page load charts. Flat glass construction on these telehandlers’ enclosed cabs is designed to support simpler glass replacement.

Productivity enhancements

Engineered to support operator efficiency, the telehandlers’ reworked functionality includes an electric-over-hydraulic joystick with integrated auxiliary hydraulic functions and attachment tilt controls for greater multifunction capability. Auxiliary hydraulic connections have also been relocated to the side of the boom head, supporting streamlined attachment changes.

JLG’s ClearSky Smart Fleet two-way communications platform is standard on the telehandlers for updated connectivity, troubleshooting and fleet management.

Optional technology packages to boost jobsite support and operator awareness, include:

  • Multi-view reverse camera system with left, right and rear views displayed on a single monitor
  • Reverse sensing system with audible in-cab alerts
  • White noise backup alarm for directional sound notification

The redesigned lineup includes three models engineered for a wide range of heavy lifting and material handling applications.

The SkyTrak 10042 features a 4,525-kg capacity, 12.8-metre lift height and 8.2-metre forward reach. The SkyTrak 10054 delivers the same lift capacity but extends lift height to 16.2-metres and 4,535-kg capacity, 16.2-metre lift height and forward reach to 11.8-metres.

As the largest of the three updated telehandlers, the SkyTrak 12054 delivers a 5,440-kg capacity, 16.2-metre lift height and 11.8-metre forward reach.

Together, these redesigned models can provide the versatility and lifting performance needed for construction material placement, infrastructure support, machinery movement and industrial handling applications.
