AED Foundation announces new Canadian Director of Workforce Development

Bev Leavitt has been named the AED Foundation’s new Senior Director of Workforce Development in Canada, which is a new role dedicated to expanding the foundation’s workforce development efforts across the country.

Leavitt previously served as a Regional Manager with AED and is transitioning into the new role due to her passion for workforce development and her commitment to strengthening the equipment industry’s talent pipeline. 

Previously, she served as President and CEO of the Canadian Equipment Dealers Association (CEDA) from 1997 to 2024, which helped build a strong foundation of knowledge and involvement within the Canadian equipment industry.

As well, she brings extensive experience in training, workforce development and employee development. From 2009 to 2024, she served as an Ontario Safety Groups Program Facilitator. From 2011 to 2024, Leavitt developed and delivered monthly Safety Talks for CEDA members.

She has also been Assess Program certified since 2013, with certification to interpret talent management reports and create competency models and facilitated The Five Dysfunctions of a Team workshops at CEDA member dealerships from 2023 to 2024.

In her new role, Leavitt will build relationships with dealers, manufacturers, educational institutions, government agencies and other industry partners while helping expand career programs, workforce events and participation in AED Foundation initiatives.
