Metrolinx has selected SoilFLO to optimize its soil management processes and enhance its ecological initiatives.
By integrating SoilFLO’s software solution into its projects, Metrolinx will be able to streamline soil tracking, record-keeping and compliance procedures while reducing costs and minimizing environmental impact.
“Metrolinx has always been at the forefront of sustainable transportation solutions, and we are thrilled to work with them,” said Kevin Goldberg, President of SoilFLO.
“By combining our expertise in soil management software with their dedication to environmental sustainability, we are confident that this collaboration will drive significant positive change across transportation projects throughout Ontario.”
SoilFLO’s software provides construction and environmental teams with a platform that simplifies soil management tasks, allowing them to focus on sustainable practices and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The software eliminates manual ticket collection, load reconciliation and manual data entry.
The system allows contractors to create a site that includes their basic information, including project name, material budgets and location.
From there, collaborators are invited to share and store data in one central location.
Then project managers are able to manage excavation in the field by creating hauling approvals for specified material and locations.
The data is used to create project dashboards, hauler management features and automated compliance reporting to improve site efficiency.

What Crosslinx needed was a comprehensive solution that could capture its soil management workflows. Excavation and hauling data had to be shared across multiple sites and parties with efficiency and key insights.
SoilFLO was previously deployed by Crosslinx as a pilot at the Crosstown LRT’s Chaplin station. The software was used to track clean and contaminated fill going to two disposal sites.
SoilFLO replaced the existing paper ticket process used to track and invoice soil movement, which was inefficient and left plenty of room for error.
The software allowed Crosslinx contractors to easily verify hauler invoices and consultants had automated soil movement reports for regulatory requirement.
Foremen were also able to gain insights to managing haulers on-site. Inefficient haulers were flagged and accurate turnaround times were set to hold drivers accountable.
