Dewalt has announced three additions to its Atomic 20V Max lineup: the 4-inch cut-off tool, the 3-inch cut-off tool and the extended die grinder.
These new tools are engineered for tough metalworking applications in narrow or confined workspaces while delivering optimal performance and user safety.
4-inch cut-off tool
The Atomic 20V Max 4-inch cut-off tool is the industry’s first battery-operated tool of its kind.
It’s ergonomically designed with a 44 per cent smaller gearcase height and delivers power comparable to 0.9 hp-rated pneumatic 4-inch extended cut-off tools.
The battery-powered tool is 28 per cent lighter than competitive pneumatic 4-inch extended cut-off tools, and a rotating guide offers 11 positions to help optimize cuts in a wide range of angles.
3-inch cut-off tool
Dewalt’s new Atomic 3-inch cut-off tool delivers 78 per cent more power than 0.5 hp-rated pneumatic cut-off tools of a similar size.
The rotating guide offers 11 positions to help optimize cuts in a wide range of angles, and its compact size allows for one-handed operation.
Extended die grinder
The Atomic 20V Max extended die grinder features a 35 per cent slimmer neck for ideal ergonomics. It provides up to 20 per cent more power than 0.5 hp-rated pneumatic die grinders.
Control features
Dewalt’s anti-rotation system quickly stops the wheel when a pinch, stall or bind-up event is sensed, reducing reactionary torque to help maximize user control, while an electronic brake is designed to stop the wheel within 1.1 seconds after the trigger is released.
On the extended die grinder, a variable-speed trigger matches speed to the application to help optimize performance, with variable speeds up to 24,500 rpm.
As well, a paddle switch replicates the performance and operation of pneumatic tools with the lock-off paddle and no-lock-on feature.
The forward exhaust system directs air away from the user to help prevent overheating.
Dewalt’s onboard LED light helps illuminate work surfaces and optimize visibility.
