Toromont Industries Ltd., one of Canada’s leading CAT dealers, has announced the retirement of Chairman and Director of the Board, Robert Ogilvie.

Mr. Ogilvie served 34 years as Chairman and 20 years as Chief Executive Officer.

Though he was originally scheduled to retire in April of 2021, Mr. Ogilvie stayed the course and navigated Toromont through some tumultuous times of this pandemic.

Mr. Ogilvie believes that Toromont is in a great position for the future and that now is an appropriate time to retire.

Toromont says that “his legacy and embedded operating disciplines will be felt for years to come. The Board and Toromont employees thank Mr. Ogilvie for his incredible loyalty, vision and leadership.”

Subsequent to the retirement of Robert Ogilvie, Toromont announced the appointment of a new Chair of the Board, Richard Roy.

Mr. Roy was appointed to Toromont’s board in 2018, bringing 35 years of experience, 16 of which he spent advancing through roles at Uni-Select.

Also, Mr. Roy currently sits as chair of Toromont’s Environment, Social and Governance Committee and is too a member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Roy also serves on the board of directors of GDI Integrated Facility Services Inc.
