Cat Certified Rebuild: 2 machines in 1

Cat Certified Rebuild program allows the transformation of a used machine into a like-new one

By Josephine Zalba and Chris Meilenner at Toromont Cat

Caterpillar machines have long stood the test of time. Although they have evolved over the past century, they have always been known as long-life machines that are “built to be rebuilt.”

The machines are designed with the goal of extending their lifespan and maximizing their value.

When it comes time to breathe new life into your machine, its design makes revitalization easy.

It is thanks to this particular characteristic that our Cat Certified Rebuild program allows us to not only transform a used machine into a like-new one, at the fraction of the price of a new machine, but also include a new warranty to provide long-term peace of mind.

At Toromont Cat, the terms “expert support” and “collaborative problem-solving” are more than just catch phrases. Our team of Cat-trained technicians prides itself on its ability to rebuild your Cat machine, whether it is done partially, through a Cat Certified Powertrain Rebuild, or completely, through a Cat Certified Rebuild.

However, it is our commitment to problem-solving and continuous and personalized after-sales services and support that distinguishes us from the rest.

We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why, through high-quality service, reliable communication and flexible after-sales solutions, we are able to adapt to your needs and tailor our services to fit your business’ objectives, budget and schedule.

Cat Certified Rebuild process

The Cat Certified Rebuild process is very thorough and involves many steps, including the inspection, disassembling, reconditioning and testing of your machine to rigorous Caterpillar specifications and standards.

The process involves the replacement of up to 7,000 parts, and since reliability is key for us, we only use genuine or remanufactured Cat parts from start to finish.

Our team will not only recondition your machine, but also include the latest engineering and technology in order to attain maximum performance.

We also offer the opportunity to add specific parts, systems or components to further boost productivity and reliability.

On top of that, to ensure the quality and performance of your rebuilt machine, we will perform more than  350 rigorous tests and inspections as the rebuild progresses. The result is a like-new machine that matches the latest model updates and leads to higher profitability.

Throughout this whole process, from quotation to the final product, our team of experts is in constant communication with you. During the rebuild, you will be able to see the parts and components that are used, and obtain clear, transparent and reliable information from our team.

We will take the time to explain why we recommend certain modifications and the impact that each improvement will have on your machine and its performance, as well as keep you updated on the status of the rebuild. And our support doesn’t stop at delivery.

Extended coverage

To further maximize the value of your Cat Certified Rebuild, we have a number of offerings that will support your machine once you put it back to work.

We offer extended warranty coverage of up to 10,000-hours, remote connectivity services to keep track of your machine’s location and condition, and Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) to provide maintenance parts and service support tailored to your operating needs.

At Toromont Cat, your success is important to us. That is why we are always here to help you reach your goals as easily and as quickly as possible.

We do not simply rebuild your machine, we offer you long-term solutions to maximize a long-term investment.
