Engcon announces new generation of energy-conscious tiltrotators

Engcon's third generation of tiltrotators.

Engcon has announced that in 2022 it will be launching its third generation of products. The new product line will feature a new tiltrotator system for excavators that has been engineered with sustainability, integration and compatibility with smart technology and the reduction of energy consumption as top priorities.

The third generation tiltrotator system will be presented for the first time at the Norwegian trade fair, Vei og Anlegg, from May 11-13.

The technology is based on a newly developed type of valve, in combination with a smart software, that collaborates with the excavator’s load-sensing hydraulic system. This optimizes both the tiltrotator’s functions and the excavator’s movements, leading to smoother digging and enhanced precision.

“To meet increased demands for electrification, digitalization, security and sustainability, we have developed a solution adapted for the future of digging. Our new tiltrotator system shows that Engcon is at the forefront of innovative solutions that drive the development forward to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and thus the climate impact of excavators,” says Stig Engström, founder and owner of Engcon and the leader of the company’s product development.

Through a mobile application, the third generation tiltrotator system also enables a higher degree of individual customization in the form of connected remote diagnostics and mobile support.

In addition to the energy-efficient technology, the new EC-Oil automatic quick coupler system can easily and smoothly connect the new tiltrotators and hydraulic gears automatically, without the operator having to leave the cab.

For full compatibility with today’s modern excavator systems, Engcon also integrated a newly developed tilt and rotation sensor that comes standard in this third generation product. According to the company, the sensors contain one of the market’s first “absolute” sensors and feature a “plug & play” solution for both integrated and third-party machine control systems.

“The third generation will be our premium offering where the excavator operator gets the very latest technology as standard, while at the same time they get an energy-optimized excavator that becomes even smoother to drive,” Engström comments.

Production of Engcon’s third-generation products is said to begin in the latter part of 2022, with the EC319 model, for 14-19 tonne excavators, and the EC314 model, for 9-14 tonne excavators. The company then plans to expand this lineup on an ongoing basis.
