Doosan Infracore will become a subsidiary of the newly created Hyundai Genuine group. Alongside Hyundai Construction Equipment, the two independent construction equipment companies will be under Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings Co. (HHIH).

Furthermore, Hyundai Genuine will act as the intermediary company of HHIH Group’s construction equipment businesses. So, it will be leading both Doosan Infracore and Hyundai Construction Equipment to aim to maximize the company’s efforts and focus on the construction equipment industry.

Together, the two brands look make an impact in the sector, globally. Eventually, hoping to be a top 5 player in the construction equipment industry.

According to Doosan Infracore, the plan is to manage overlapping investments and invest heavily in areas like future technologies and innovation.

Also, Doosan Infracore looks to focus on commercializing Concept-X and develop cutting-edge products such as electric excavators, battery packs, hybrid fuel cells and other next-generation products.

For context, Concept-X is Doosan’s comprehensive control solution that can be used to survey worksite topography via 3D drone scanning, establish operational plans based on the topographical data and operate construction equipment such as excavators and wheel loaders without human intervention.

So, by focusing on each company’s areas of strength, Hyundai Genuine believes itself capable of advancing the development of these types of products, hoping to gain a competitive edge in the global market.

Independently, the two companies hope to grow, complement each other and even compete in good faith. Ultimately, striving to push the boundaries of technology, production, purchasing, sales and quality.
