Virnig Manufacturing has created completely redesigned two-stage snow blower lineup to help crews move more snow in tough winter conditions.
Designed for municipalities and snow removal professionals, the new two-stage snow blower lineup features expanded width options, optimized hydraulic motor packages, multiple auger configurations and customer-driven improvements that enhance durability, performance and ease of use.
Eaton motors with pressure relief protection help safeguard the hydraulic system.
The redesign was driven by feedback from dealers and operators who wanted additional configuration options, improved skid shoe functionality, more surface-specific solutions and greater flexibility for different snow conditions.
Rather than creating multiple platforms for different applications, Virnig focused on developing a streamlined platform to serve a broad range of customers and machine configurations.
The result is a more versatile lineup that delivers greater value while maintaining durability and performance.
“This redesign wasn’t about fixing a bad product,” said Tyler Monson, Product Manager at Virnig Manufacturing. “Our previous snow blowers performed well for customers. The opportunity was to take what we learned from dealers and operators, address common pain points, simplify the platform and build more value into every blower without compromising performance or durability.”
What’s new
Virnig’s new snow blower lineup is designed to move large volumes of snow quickly and efficiently while giving operators more options to match their machine, application and winter conditions.
The snow blowers are available in four widths: 1.5 metres, 1.8 metres, 2.2 metres and the new 2.4 metre mode for increased productivity and machine coverage.
Virnig offers five hydraulic motor options covering 53 to 170 litres per minute across standard and high-flow machines. Contractors can select from a choice of paddle or spiral auger configurations based on snow conditions and operator preference.
The snow blowers are equipped with a 95-mm thick serrated auger flighting designed for aggressive snow handling in packed snow and ice.
As well, three skid shoe options are available to match surface conditions, including:
- Standard adjustable and reversible steel skid shoes with angled fronts designed to glide over obstructions.
- Optional gravel skid shoes with wide bases for softer surfaces and gravel applications.
- Optional poly skid shoes designed to reduce surface marking on concrete, asphalt and pavers.
To maintain adjustment settings throughout the season, the snow blowers are equipped with a new five-position skid shoe adjustment system with locking design.
Auger options
To better match operator preferences and application needs, Virnig now offers two auger styles. The paddle auger option is ideal for compacted snow and icy conditions, while the spiral auger is designed to tackle lighter, more consistent snow conditions such as powder.

Virnig also maintained numerous proven features on the new snow blowers, such as the 60-cm fan diameter for high-volume snow movement, 270-degree hydraulic chute rotation with in-cab deflector control for precise snow placement and up to 50 per cent more auger torque and fan speed for superior performance in difficult winter conditions.
The 50-mm thick fan housing is twice as thick as the industry standard to help resist damage from rocks and debris.
