JCB’s 4TS Teleskid is raising the bar for compact equipment … by about 60-cm.
The 5.9-tonne, 109 hp 4TS Teleskid features a 4.5-metre hinge pin height, about 60-cm higher than the 3TS.
“So, it’s just a massive opportunity. It’s really turning a compact track loader into a kind of two-in-one machine. It’s now like a telehandler and a compact track loader,” said Lee Tice, Product Manager at JCB.
Thanks to its lift height, 2.4-metre forward reach, 90-cm dig depth capability and an 1,800-kg rated operating capacity, the 4TS eliminates the need for a separate telehandler in many situations, providing a single machine that handles everything from grading and trenching to material handling and loading. As a true start-to-finish tool, the 4TS allows contractors to consolidate equipment fleets and increase jobsite efficiency.
“So, we’ve obviously had a telescopic boom on compact track loaders before, giving those customers more reach and more height. We’ve taken that a step further with this machine,” Tice said.
The 4TS Teleskid was introduced alongside the 400T compact track loader. The two machines are the first compact loaders in JCB’s lineup in the 100-hp range. Both machines are powered by the JCB 4.4 litre EcoMax engine.
“We’re really excited for our first high horsepower offering. We now have a full family of Teleskids,” Tice said.

Addressing feedback from 3TS owners, the 4TS is also able to run high-flow attachments even when the boom is fully extended, overcoming a key challenge and expanding its capabilities for complex jobsite operations.
“We can now extend and retract our auxiliaries. So up to 43 gallons per minute that we can extend and retract,” Tice said. “That just expands the number of applications that the customers can do.”
The 4TS features a newly designed low-leak valve body that prevents boom drift, ensuring materials stay exactly where you need them — even when the boom is fully extended. This design delivers precision and enhanced safety on the jobsite.
The Teleskid also features side door entry thanks to its single arm design.
“It’s eliminating accidents and injuries that occur around these machines, because a lot of times that is where we see a lot of the accidents happen, when the operator is climbing in and out the front of the machine,” Tice said.
In the Teleskid cab, the 4TS is equipped with a standard fit, fully adjustable, heated, air suspension seat.
The 4TS also features electric over hydraulic controls; optional switchable ISO-/H-pattern controls; a seven-way, multi-function joystick; and JCB’s MyChoice software to adjust joystick responsiveness to the operator’s preference.
The updated cab was designed with ease of use and operator comfort in mind. The new touchscreen display is mounted in the top right-hand side of the cab and will allow the operator to quickly change settings.
