Chicago Pneumatic Power Technique (CP) has unveiled its new CPS 1800 JD8 Tier 4 Final portable air compressor.
The twin single-stage, oil-injected, rotary screw type compressor is the largest in the CP line up and can work in a wide range of applications.
Powered by a liquid-cooled, six-cylinder turbocharged diesel John Deere 525 hp engine, the unit has an engine starting capacity at -10 C without the addition of cold start options.
A 909-litre fuel tank enables operation for more than eight hours at full load and comes standard with a low fuel shutdown when the tank reaches five per cent capacity. Additionally, FuelXpert reduces fuel consumption up to 10 per cent at 75 per cent load, increasing project profitability.
The CPS 1800 has three settings for actual free air delivery.
At 100 psi, the actual free air delivery is 1,800 cfm, at 150 psi it is 1,700 cfm and at 200 psi it is 1,400 psi.
Operating in a wide range of applications, the Chicago Pneumatic XC4003 controller allows the machine to match airflow with desired operating pressure to maximize output and keeps the engine as fuel efficient as possible.
“This is a quality compressor built with the same characteristics as the complete CP range, offering reliability, easy maintenance, user-friendly features and economical operation, ensuring best-in-class cost of ownership,” said Brent Sexton, product manager of portable compressors at Chicago Pneumatic.
“CP remains a world leader in designing the most efficient and reliable compressors on the market and the CPS 1800 is mirrored in that.”
Other features include a spillage-free containment frame protecting the environment and a heavy duty tandem dual axle trailer with 45 cm tires balancing the compressor for safe towing and includes a high ground clearance for rough site and road conditions.
The unit’s cooling system consists of an integrated side-by-side aluminum oil cooler with axial fan. Designed for higher maximum working pressure, the air and oil separator is equipped with a high pressure sealed and certified safety valve and automatic blow-down valve.
Maintenance is simple with wide service doors to all components from both sides of the machine.
The CPS 1800 has a galvannealed steel canopy with powder coat finish providing corrosion protection. The canopy is also sound attenuated.
