Bobcat introduces two new R2 Series compact excavators

R2 series excavator

Early this year, Bobcat will introduce its new R2 Series E42 and E50 compact excavators.

The two new machines feature boosts to performance and comfort, as well as enhanced machine uptime protection.

Operators can dig with confidence over the side of the R2 Series machines with a dual-flange track roller system that extends the undercarriage structure closer to the track’s edge.

The added stability of the design, plus a new integrated counterweight, increases lift-over-side capacity. It also improves over-the-side digging performance and slewing ability.

R2 Series features

Equipped with fingertip boom swing control, Bobcat joysticks not only provide quick, precise movement with low effort, while the new hydraulic control valve offers improved metering, finite movement and controllability for level grading, in addition to fast cycle times.

The new cooling system for the new R2 Series machines, with side-by-side heat exchangers, controls engine compartment temperature more efficiently than before, improving performance and serviceability and protecting engine component life.

More news from Bobcat:

The composite tailgate with steel interior provides maximum durability, protecting the machine’s interior components and providing an improved fit and finish that reduces noise and vibration.

Inside the cab, the R2 Series E42 and E50 excavators also offer more glass surface area for the side windows of the cab and top window, in addition to narrower side pillars, for improved visibility.

The automatic heat and air conditioning system maintains a steady and comfortable temperature without the need for manual adjustments, while the heated seat makes a perfect complement to the automatic temperature control, keeping operators comfortable on frigid days.

The Bobcat R-Series T76 and S76 loaders as well as the R2 Series E42 and E50 excavators will be displayed at World of Concrete in Booth C5377 in the Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
