RTG Rammtechnik’s future of foundations

RTG Rammtechnik highlights its latest advancements in piling and soil mixing techniques at bauma

At bauma, RTG Rammtechnik introduced several new technologies to address emerging challenges on jobsites.

For example, the eRG 21 T hybrid demonstrated how piling contractors can complete their work with minimal noise and emissions.

The machine became a popular attraction at the Bauer booth, RTG Rammtechnik’s parent company.

Its innovative drive system combines the power of a 576-hp diesel engine with the precision of an electric motor that provides up to 118-hp of additional power.

The hybrid technology ensures a constant high level of efficiency, even under strict emission regulations.

Thanks to the support of the electric motor, the diesel engine operates with reduced power, which not only reduces noise, but also reduces fuel consumption. As a result, emissions are reduced by up to 68 per cent.

The hybrid drive also improves flexibility. The system adjusts between diesel and electric power based on demand, optimizing performance for various applications. When lower power is required, the machine can operate in fully electro-hydraulic mode, while full power is available for demanding piling tasks.

“So, 80 per cent of the time, the equipment is not really working and doesn’t need full power. It can be done with an electric driven engine,” said Franz-Werner Gerressen, Bauer’s head of Process Development. “When you begin the application … Then you need the energy. There, you need the full power to run the system.”

The standard equipment for the eRG 21 T hybrid includes the Bauer comfort operator cab and a state-of-the-art touchscreen with B-Tronic control. Integrated power management optimizes the use of the hybrid drive.

The temperature-regulated fan control system with fully automatic operation was specially developed for vibrator operation. Additionally, the machine features a basic remote control as well as retractable side flaps for automatic noise protection.

A variety of optional features allow customization for specific requirements. An arctic kit, or the extended arctic kit plus, enable operation even under extreme weather conditions. An optional second swivelling mechanism increases the swivel braking torque, improving machine control.

As well, the energy-efficient power (EEP) system with Eco Mode helps reduce energy consumption.

Successful testing

The hybrid drive has successfully demonstrated its reliability with the eRG 19 T hybrid, the “smaller sister” of the eRG 21 T hybrid.

Last year, it was used at the Friedrich-Krause-Ufer site in Berlin. During the special foundation engineering work for a new office and commercial building, the machine executed vibration driving precisely based on a grid pattern, laying the groundwork for an excavation pit with a stable sealing horizon.

New sheet pile press

Geräteübergabe MPZ 700 – 800 RTG Rammtechnik bauma 2025

During bauma 2025, RTG Rammtechnik GmbH also presented its new MPZ 700 – 800 sheet pile press at the stand of its sales partner, terra Infrastructure GmbH. With a higher pressing speed, flexible adjustment to different profiles and an innovative automation system, it sets new standards for this technique.

The MPZ 700 – 800 allows for seamless operation with Z profiles in range of 700 to 800 mm. The angular adjustment of the clamping jaws is accomplished by a hydraulic clamping device that quickly adapts to different profiles with the same width. This simplifies the operator’s work and ensures maximum efficiency on the job site.

By increasing the volumetric flow up to 850 litres per minute, the sheet pile press achieves pressing speeds of up to 9.4 metres per minute during extension and 12 metres per minute during retraction.

The MPZ 700 – 800 also features a field-proven modular design. Main components such as the press cylinder, hydraulic and electrical elements remain unchanged, allowing for an easy conversion from MPZ (Z profiles) to MPU (U profiles) by exchanging the guide box. A newly developed transport frame further simplifies the assembly of components as well as conversion.

Another highlight of the MPZ 700 – 800 is its automated pressing system. This enables operators to run various press sequences automatically. Apart from predefined sequences, a custom sequence can also be programmed. The entire pressing process is monitored by electronic sensors for enhanced safety and precision.

Operating the MPZ 700 – 800 is now even more convenient thanks to technical innovations. The Automatic Coupling System (ACS) makes it easier to attach and remove the press from the base carrier. Furthermore, the entire machine can be operated by remote control, providing optimal control.

Multi-shaft mixing system

In modern special foundation engineering, innovative solutions are essential to meet the increasing demands for precision, efficiency and environmental sustainability. RTG Rammtechnik GmbH’s multi-shaft mixing system (MSM) is an example of meeting emerging requirements.

With a quadruple mixing drive, the system offers flexibility and efficiency beyond what conventional triple mixing drives can achieve. Particularly around soil mixing techniques, the system is valued as an economical and versatile solution.

The main innovation of the MSM system is up to four independent rotary drives that turn the mixing paddles into the soil in a parallel arrangement. Cement slurry is pumped continuously through a hollow stem. Thanks to the multiple rotary drives, the system has particularly flexible applications. Different mixing distances and configurations can be adapted to suit the individual requirements of the construction site. The system can be used both on telescoping leaders and fixed leaders from RTG.

The MSM system creates a broad spectrum of applications. It is used for constructing cut-off walls in contaminated soil, groundwater barriers and sealing or rehabilitation of dikes and levees. The system also shows its strengths in excavation pits or for other structural requirements, such as soil improvement. Thanks to the unique arrangement of the individual elements, secant cut-off walls can be constructed continuously with high levels of leak tightness and stability.

Another key feature of the MSM system is its user-friendly handling. A hydraulically controlled lifting device allows for convenient attachment of the mixing tools. An optionally available Automatic Coupling System (ACS) enables rapid and straightforward exchange of attachment units, further enhancing efficiency.

As well, the MSM system operates without an additional joint, which can impede the passage of slurry in similar equipment models. The standard mixing tool has a diameter of 914 mm. However, other tools and connections can be customized to meet individual requirements for different construction projects.

B-Tronic system

With the B-Tronic system from Bauer, the MSM system becomes more user-friendly and efficient. B-Tronic enables seamless real-time monitoring of all relevant production data. This minimizes downtime and optimizes the entire production process. The system’s synchronization mode allows for automatic synchronization of the mixing drives during the mixing process, adjusting the lowest possible torque for consistent and optimal mixing performance.

The MSM system from RTG Rammtechnik GmbH ushers in a new area of soil mixing techniques. With its advanced technology, adaptability to various jobsite conditions and technological assistance from the B-Tronic system, it is an essential tool for modern special foundation engineering.
