Liebherr will expand its wheeled excavator portfolio at bauma in April with two new compact models.
The A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact are two new models in the 9 and 11 tonne classes that expand the Liebherr wheeled excavator portfolio.
With the new introductions, for the first time, Liebherr will have two wheeled excavators operating in the 9 and 11 tonne class.
The A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact feature a small tail swing radius of 1.5 metres and 1.60 metres, and a front swing radius of 2 metres and 2.1 metres, respectively. The dimensions of the turning radius of just 3.86 metres also underscore the compactness of the two machines.
In combination with the total weight of 9.7 tonnes for the A 909 and 10.8 tonnes for the A 911, both wheeled excavators can be used even in confined spaces.
High flexibility

The new wheeled excavators are equipped with a 73-hp or 107-hp engine and depending on the version are equipped with an SCR system and intercooler.
The perfectly coordinated hydraulic system enables flexible, parallel work movements with an optimal supply to all users. At the same time, it ensures maximum performance of both machines and has a positive effect on fuel consumption. Thanks to the overall design of the machine, both the A 909 Compact and the A 911 Compact deliver low fuel consumption, enabling efficient work with low operating costs.

The reliable undercarriage design with integrated travel drive offers impressive acceleration due to the high drawbar pull. The resulting high travel speed reduces the time required for transport, which in turn reduces costs. The Liebherr standard tires ensure comfortable driving performance. These deliver maximum stability and are available in several versions, such as twin or single tires. The Speeder version enable speeds of up to 37 km per hour.
In addition, new designs in the uppercarriage provide maximum offroad capability. The wheels can move further in the direction of the uppercarriage during an oscillating motion of the axle. In combination with the ground clearance and the pendulum angle of the undercarriage, this provides the A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact with maximum traction.
Maintenance-friendly
With an intelligent and service-oriented machine design, the new compact excavators feature a well-thought-out maintenance concept.
The durability of the components ensures low service costs and minimal downtime for maintenance and servicing. Considering the entire life cycle of the new wheeled excavators, the total costs from purchase to sale are ultimately low, without compromising on quality, according to Liebherr.
Several components are also maintenance-free, meaning that no daily maintenance is required. Should maintenance be necessary, the most important parts can be reached from the ground, allowing for simple, fast and safe maintenance. This also applies to refuelling the A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact.
INTUSI
Liebherr has also equipped the cab with several features for the operator. The cab design offers sufficient space in the head and foot area, as well as driver-specific setting of the control elements.
The new INTUSI (Intuitive User Interface) operating system, which is installed as standard, allows individual assignment of the functions and maximum flexibility in daily work.
The intelligent arrangement of the cab ensures all relevant control panels and joysticks are easily accessible and operable. The large windows provide the best possible overview in all directions and contribute significantly to the safety of the working environment. The additional sliding window on the side allows the operator to communicate optimally with people outside.
In terms of ergonomics, the A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact also offer the operator a comfortable working environment thanks to consoles that move with the machine, as well as low noise emissions and vibrations.
