Liebherr has announced a plan to invest $45 million in the expansion of its facility in Newport News, Virginia.
The new expansion will include the construction of three new buildings on 28 acres adjacent to Liebherr’s current manufacturing facility.

“This expansion underlines our commitment and further strengthens our position in North America to deliver sustainable long-term growth and to offer exceptional and consistent experience to customers across the United States.”
Once completed, the new facilities will total more than 23,318 square metres of floor space and will be occupied by Liebherr USA, Co.
The expansion will offer space for Liebherr USA Co.’s new headquarters and administrative building, a production and workshop facility, as well as a warehouse and distribution building.
Construction is expected to begin in July and be completed by summer of 2020.
The Liebherr Group has continuously expanded its operations in Newport News and throughout the United States since it opened in 1970. The company operates 13 locations creating a wide range of jobs with roles in manufacturing as well as sales and service across all of the divisions.

Liebherr USA, Co. provides sales and service on behalf of eight different Liebherr product units, including construction equipment; mining; mobile and crawler cranes; tower cranes; concrete technology; foundation equipment; maritime cranes; components and the appliances, which includes refrigerators and freezers.
