The Brandt Group of Companies has announced it will create a new division that is specifically designed to serve the needs of the Canadian aggregate industry.

The new business unit, named Brandt Mineral Technology, will operate across a Canada-wide footprint through the company’s Brandt Tractor locations.

On October 28, Brandt announced it has successfully acquired the businesses of the Nortrax Canada Inc. and Nortrax Quebec Inc. Completion of the acquisition means Brandt now has more than 100 John Deere Construction & Forestry dealerships and service points across Canada, making it the country’s only coast-to-coast-to-coast construction equipment network.

“The addition of 29 stores to Brandt’s already extensive sales and support network allows for numerous synergies that will benefit our customers across the country,” said Brandt President and CEO Shaun Semple.

As well, following the company’s recent appointment as the exclusive Canadian dealer for Wirtgen Group roadbuilding and aggregate equipment, the Mineral Technology division will focus specifically on sales and support services for John Deere construction equipment along with the Wirtgen Group’s line of Kleemann aggregate machines.

“Brandt has built strong working relationships with many Canadian aggregate contractors through our John Deere business over the years, but we wanted to do more for them.” Semple said.

“For the aggregate market, we’ve worked hard to assemble the best possible combination of equipment and industry expertise to do what we can to ensure success for our customers.”

In support of the new division, the company has also announced plans to open two Mineral Technology centres of excellence; one in Milton, Ontario and the other in Calgary, Alberta.

To support the division’s lineup of premium equipment, Brandt has assembled a team of experienced industry professionals; highly-specialized and focused exclusively on this business.

Earlier this month, Brandt also announced the creation a new division that is specifically designed to serve the needs of Canada’s roadbuilding industry, via the Wirtgen product lineup.
