AMI Attachments opens its second manufacturing facility

AMI Attachments has officially opened its second manufacturing facility, expanding its production capacity and office space.

Driven by sustained growth in customer demand and a workforce that includes about 200 employees, the new facility was developed to support increased welding capacity while providing additional space for key teams.

The opening represents a significant milestone in AMI’s growth and serves as a lead-in to the company’s upcoming 25th anniversary in June.

The new facility was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by AMI Attachments President Steve Frey and members of AMI’s leadership team in April.

Located in Elmira, Ontario, the same community where AMI was founded, the new facility reinforces a commitment to local growth.

“The Elmira facility increases our overall welding capacity and comes with excess land for future expansion, which puts us in a much stronger position to keep pace with customer demand,” Frey said.

More than 30 employees will be based out of the location, supporting both manufacturing and customer-facing operations. As well, the new facility has created 10 new positions at AMI.

The second facility plays a critical role in increasing production capacity while maintaining AMI quality control.

The main products manufactured at the new location includes pin grab couplers, compact tilt buckets and HD Pro buckets.

The site adds 22,000 square feet of space and increases overall welding capacity by about 15 per cent, helping AMI keep pace with customer demand while continuing to build what’s next.

Manufacturing accounts for 17,800 square feet of the site alongside 4,200 square feet of office space.

Welding capacity is enhanced with the addition of 10 manual weld bays and four robotic welding centres.

As well, the addition includes two dedicated service bays.

“The combination of manual and robotic welding capacity, along with dedicated product support bays, means we can strengthen both our manufacturing output and our service offering to customers,” Frey said.

The second facility compliments AMI’s 100,000 square foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in Hawkesville, Ontario.
