K-Tec Earthmovers have released the tricerabox, a new accessory for tractors with more than 500 hp to enhance earthmoving operations.
The K-Tec Tricerabox is a 4.2-metre-wide box blade that is mounted to the three-point hitch on the rear of a tractor.
The three functions of the Tricerabox include the levelling blade pulling material forwards, ripper teeth sinking down into the soil and blade backwards for pushing dozing material.
The blade is ideal for levelling out uneven cut zones, as well as preparing a productive loading area for enhanced scraper productivity.

K-Tec’s Tricerabox has seven ground ripper shanks that are hydraulically lowered for engaging the ground for ripping up hard soil or aerating wet jobsites. The Tricerabox back blade allows for the operator to complete backfilling of soil work to fully smooth out the cut and fill zones.
The three-point hitch may also be modified to have a scraper hitch hook-up, which will allow the tractor to fill in as a bulk dirt hauler for another power-unit that may be down for maintenance.
The K-Tec Tricerabox enables the tractor to become a more nimble piece of ground maintenance equipment than a crawler dozer. Comparing the tractor and Tricerabox combination to a dozer, the contractor is able to burn less fuel and reduce undercarriage costs by a minimum of 50 per cent, according to K-Tec.
As well, the equipment combination has a higher speed to reverse back to the start of the cut zone.
Using the Tricerabox is an ideal method to utilize the second life of a tractor, in becoming an integral piece of earthmoving support equipment.
K-Tec Earthmovers, based in Manitoba, was founded in 2000. The company creates direct mount, train and ADT scrapers, and other earthmoving accessories in a variety of model specifications to fit various construction projects.
