Junttan has unveiled its PM5 pile driving rig, the latest innovation in the company’s Evolution Series that rolled out last year.
The new drill rig is completely reimagined and engineered from the ground up, which the company says sets a new benchmark for productivity, precision and operator experience.
The release of the PM5 comes at a historic moment for Junttan as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, marking half a century in the pile driving industry.
“As we approach this milestone, there is no better way to honour our legacy than by introducing the most advanced pile driving rig we have ever built,” said Junttan CEO Tommi Lehtonen. “The PM5 embodies Junttan’s relentless pursuit of innovation and our commitment to supporting the future of sustainable, efficient foundation construction.”
Designed in line with the principles of the Evolution Series, the PM5 combines capacity, state-of-the-art features and simple transportation, offering contractors improved efficiency from site arrival to project completion.

The PM5 features an entirely optimized kinematic design and a renewed component layout that delivers more capacity with low ground pressure. Its newly engineered telescopic mast allows the rig to handle both extreme vertical pile lengths and high-inclination work in shorter leader configurations.
Transportation and setup have been engineered for maximum simplicity, speed and safety. The PM5 pile driving rig can be transported as a complete, work-ready unit, minimizing logistics costs and downtime. With an optional remote-control system, operators can perform most setup actions outside the machine, maintaining full visibility of the surroundings for enhanced safety.
As well, patent-pending hydraulically locking leader connections streamline the process, enabling tool-free operation and reducing the need for working at heights.
Evolution Series cab
The centrepiece of the new PM5 is the Evolution Series cab and control system. A completely redesigned Junttan measurement system provides real-time process data, pile driving visualization, machine diagnostics and continuous performance feedback. New operator-assist features ensure consistency, precision and a reduced workload.
“The PM5 represents a new generation of pile driving, more capable, more intuitive and easier to deploy than ever before. We believe the PM5 sets a new benchmark for the entire industry and reinforces our role as a global leader in pile driving equipment. With the completely reimagined design, advanced control systems, and class-leading performance, the PM5 gives contractors the confidence to take on more demanding projects with greater efficiency, safety and precision,” said Tomi Voutilainen, Vice President of Research and Development and Product Management at Junttan.
“It’s a rig built not only for today’s job sites but for the evolving challenges of the next 50 years, reflecting a future where Junttan’s innovation continues without pause.”
