Hilltip’s SnowStriker snowplows are now available in North America, including the straight blade and v-plow models for half-ton pickups, SUVs, UTVs, tractors and loaders.
SnowStriker plows feature a curved, powder-coated snow blade made of high-strength steel. They also have adjustable two-segment trip edges for plow protection. The cutting edges are available with either polyurethane or steel construction. Other standard features include an adjustable attack angle and tilting blade.
“The introduction of the light-duty segment of our plow line coincides with our new facility coming online in New Haven, Indiana, later this year, and it brings us one step closer to offering the complete line of Hilltip products in North America,” said Craig Sandmann, Managing Director for Hilltip North America.
“Our high-quality plows have been used for years in the extreme winter conditions of northern Finland, and they complement our technologically advanced spreaders and sprayers, giving customers a new level of automation, efficiency and documentation not seen before in North America.”
The SnowStriker plows are available in widths ranging from 1.6 metres to 2.6 metres. Hilltip’s Quick Hitch mounts allow for easy connections to pickups, SUVs and UTVs. As well, mounting options are available for tractors and loaders.
The HTrack tracking software can be used to monitor the SnowStriker plows in real time from a computer, tablet or smartphone, when used with an IceStriker spreader or SprayStriker sprayer. The software offers the industry’s only two-way GPRS tracking capabilities for seamless communication between drivers and operations.

New Combi spreader
Hilltip has also introduced the new IceStriker 8000 CM Combi Spreader, which features a capacity of 226 litres. This truck-mounted unit is electric powered with the ability to spread bulk sand and gravel, bulk or bag salt, sand-salt mixes and fertilizers.
It comes standard with Hilltip’s innovative GPS speed control system and has an integrated liquid tank for pre-wetting material as it’s spread or directly spraying brine on driving surfaces.
The IceStriker 8000 CM can be powered by 12- or 24-volt dual motors, which are mounted inside a sealed, weather-resistant enclosure. An automatic GPS speed control adjusts the material rate according to vehicle speed, ensuring the exact target rate is consistently applied on each job.
The integrated liquid tank has a 1,400-litre capacity for pre-wetting material, which can help significantly reduce salt usage. A spray bar can be added for de-icing applications, as well as a 12-metre hose reel for spraying hard-to-reach areas.
For corrosion resistance, the spreader has a stainless-steel auger, and the modular hopper body is made of polyethylene. The IceStriker 8000 CM also includes features to ensure consistent material flow, such as an inverted V with a vibrator to help prevent bridging. Additionally, a stainless-steel flip-up chute is designed for spreading salt in environments with high humidity.
