Bobcat has launched two new Brushcat rotary cutter attachments and a full line of redesigned loader drum mulchers attachments, claiming each model to be equipped to powerfully cut, pulverize and clear debris in rough land-clearing jobs.
In the thick of it
The new 44-inch and 54-inch Brushcat rotary cutters for mini track loaders and small articulated loaders are the smallest models in the lineup.
According to Bobcat, the compact size allows the attachments to gain access to areas of overgrowth that larger rotary cutters cannot.
The models feature a high-efficiency, direct-drive motor that maximizes hydraulic horsepower for cutting and mulching tall, thick vegetation in one pass. Furthermore, the high cutting speeds and heavy-duty blades maximize inertia to cut and mulch vegetation up to two inches in diameter.
A lightweight, short deck and strong oscillation enable the brush cutter to follow ground contours to maintain a clean cut, even on slopes, while an open, front-deck design allows the operator a clear view of the cutting path.
Also, the rear roller blocks debris from being cast out the back and prevents the attachment from digging into the ground. Furthermore, easily replaceable skid shoes prevent the deck from digging into inclines.
These new attachments are compatible with Bobcat’s small articulated loaders (L23, L28); mini track loaders (MT85, MT100); and Bobcat’s 450 skid-steer loaders and compact track loaders.

A full line redesign
Bobcat’s redesigned loader drum mulchers are available in 50-inch, 61-inch and 72-inch cutting widths and are approved for the 700 and 800-Series compact track and skid-steer loaders.
According to the company, these mulchers can make quick work of utility line and right-of-way maintenance, site preparation, property maintenance and disaster recovery response.
The standard 2-speed hydraulic motor provides increased drum torque and quicker drum speed recovery. Also, the 50-inch and 61-inch mulchers come equipped with a pressure gauge to better monitor drum speeds.
Depth control rings, a feature of the optional drum, limit engagement of the cutting teeth for more efficient, consistent operation—available on the 50-inch and 61-inch models.
The compact size of the drum mulcher accommodates the removal of trees up to 8 inches in diameter.
Also, a reinforced push bar and optional low-profile front gate provide optimal visibility to the drum and cutting teeth.
For added safety and job site tidiness, rear debris chains obstruct debris thrown toward the rear of the attachment and a hydraulic drum brake brings drum rotation to a stop within 20 seconds after deactivating the auxiliary hydraulics.
