Ammann has released a new series of compactors that feature a proprietary intelligent compaction system.
The four new ASC models have a weight range of 11 to 17 tonnes and feature the latest Deutz engine and meet all EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage 4 Final emissions requirements. Typical applications for the rollers include motorways, railways, airfields, rock dams, industrial zones, harbours and residential areas.
Ammann Compaction Expert
The ASC compactors also offer Ammann Compaction Expert (ACE), the proprietary intelligent compaction system. Ammann became a trendsetter of intelligent compaction systems in the late 90s when it launched its first generation of ACE.
ACE is an automatic measurement, control and documentation system. As well, it can be supported with GPS mapping to provide data regarding the areas the compactor has covered. All measured values can be displayed and evaluated, including the load-bearing capacity of the material, the number of passes and the frequency and amplitude values.

The operation of ACE is managed via a simple structured display, which provides an easy-to-understand dialog that leads the operator through all aspects of achieving optimum results in the most efficient way.
The operator is guided through the menu, which helps to eliminate mistakes in operation and guarantees satisfying compaction results. In operation mode, the display focuses on the most relevant information and leads the operator by indicating the optimal rolling speed. All compaction data is displayed and can be printed at any time. The printer can be operated and adjusted through the menu on the machine’s display.
The compactors are available with two variations of the system. ACE Pro measures and evaluates ground characteristics and automatically adjusts the amplitude and frequency accordingly.
ACE Force
ACE Force measures the absolute value of the bearing capacity of the compacted material.
The ASC rollers also feature a no-rear-axle concept, which enables stability, as well as manoeuverability and a compact machine design.
For operator comfort and safety, the machines include a spacious cab with low sound levels, all-around machine visibility and a simple dashboard for intuitive machine control.
Furthermore, the ASC rollers are designed to allow easy access to service and maintenance points.
