For more than 50 years, Equipment Journal has helped connect Canadian heavy equipment operators with the manufacturers and dealers that sell the machines required to get the job done.
As you read this, we are rolling out a new online avenue to help foster that connection.
Over the last several months, we’ve developed a new — and free — online heavy equipment listings platform, available at equipmentjournal.com/search.
The new and easy-to-use service delivers lightning fast search results on a platform that is optimized for mobile and desktop heavy equipment buyers.
“There are a lot of choices for people to list their used equipment online. Two of the most common complaints of other systems is that they are too expensive or result in too many tire kickers,” said Equipment Journal’s general manager Mark Baker.
“We wanted to develop a system that is affordable, easy to use and produces quality leads. Making it affordable was the easy part; less than 30 items are free, and we believe Equipment Journal’s audience will produce serious buyers.”
For each free listing, dealers are able to include up to 10 photos and one video of the machine or attachment that is for sale.
As well, each listing generates a link that is easily shared via social media.
For the perspective heavy equipment buyer, search results may be refined by the type of machine, price range, hour range, manufacturer, model, year, dealer and whether or not the equipment is for sale or for rent.
Furthermore, search results may be refined to prioritize machines that are in the same neighbourhood as the potential equipment customer.
Once a future buyer begins to search through the thousands of machines already posted to the site, they’re able to mark and save their favourite listings for future reference.
Although the equipment listing site is now live on our website, we plan to continue to improve upon how we connect buyers and sellers.
We are now working on a number of other features that will roll out in the coming months, including heavy equipment comparison, price change alerts, premium paid listings and improved geographic filtering.
We also plan to offer sellers the ability to see how many views their listing has received.
In the meantime, take a look at what’s already offered, create an account and start listing your equipment, free of charge.
