Kubota unveils its all-new BX90 Series sub-compact tractor line

Kubota has reinvented its subcompact tractor line with the debut of the BX90 Series.

As a pioneer of the sub-compact category, Kubota introduced the original BX Series in 2000. Now, the company is once again transforming the equipment segment by introducing five new models with three trim levels.

The BX90 Series includes the BX2190, BX2390 Deluxe and BX2690 Premium, plus the backhoe-equipped BX2390S and BX2690S Premium.

The new BX90 Series represents a complete platform redesign built specifically around all-day comfort, loader power and mowing performance.

“The BX90 Series was designed around what today’s property owners value most: productivity, comfort and choice, while building on the quality and versatility that has made Kubota a trusted leader in sub-compact tractors,” said Matt McDonald, Senior Product Operations Manager, Kubota Tractor Corporation.

The new sub-compact lineup made its debut at Kubota Connect dealer meeting in Kissimmee, Florida, in late September.

“Compact utility tractors are our highest-selling product in Canada. So that’s a pretty big deal for us, our dealers and customers,” said Yannick Montagano, President of Kubota Canada.

The new BX90 Series is defined by three core advancements: loader capability, mower performance and more intuitive operation.
Together, these enhancements elevate productivity, versatility and operator comfort across the entire BX90 lineup.

Loader capability

The BX90 Series improves loader productivity with the redesigned LA355 and LA405 loaders, offering lift capacities of up to 327 kg and 410 kg, respectively.

The BX2390 and BX2690 models combine increased hydraulic flow and pressure with quicker cycle times and stronger response at lower engine speeds. As well, dual bucket cylinders, an improved rollback angle, protected hose routing and an easier-to-align loader cradle are designed to support efficient operation, improve material retention and enable more convenient loader attachment and removal.

Mower performance

The new 137-cm and 152-cm mower decks combine welded-steel construction with the flexibility to choose either pin-on or drive-over capability. The available Swift-Mount auto-coupling driveline connects as the tractor travels over the deck, making attachment faster and more convenient.

Comfort and control

The all-new side-by-side HST pedals create a more natural operating position and make forward and reverse changes feel intuitive, helping operators work with greater comfort, confidence and control.

“From intuitive side-by-side HST pedals to enhanced loader and mower systems, every improvement is intended to help customers accomplish more with ease,” McDonald said. “At the top of the lineup, the Premium model brings modern displays, programmable settings and advanced controls traditionally associated with larger tractors, combining the proven BX experience with technology designed around how customers work.”

With enhanced loader capability, multiple mower options and compatibility with a wide range of tools, the BX90 Series gives customers the flexibility to choose the capability, convenience, price point and technology that fits the way they work.

BX2190

The 19.3-hp BX2190 is an accessible entry point to the BX90 lineup, combining essential BX versatility with the platform-wide enhancements and the LA355 loader. Its increased horsepower also supports larger tires and 152-cm mower-deck compatibility.

“We’ve gone from 16.6 hp on our BX1880 Series to now being 19.3 hp on the new BX2190. What that means is better performance for snowblowers and PTO powered implements. But most importantly is that that we can now run a 60-inch mower deck on our entry-level model,” said Justin Parrott, Product Manager for Compact Utility Tractors at Kubota Canada.

BX2390 Deluxe

The 21.6-hp BX2390 Deluxe balances capability, convenience and value with redesigned styling, compatibility with the high-performance LA405 loader and upgraded controls that include electronically controlled PTO engagement, three-point hitch position control, telescopic stabilizers and simplified mower-deck height adjustment.

“This model represents a major step forward and change in the BX that we know today. From redesigned styling to increased capacities and simplified operations, we expect to see massive success with this new BX2390,” Parrott said.

BX2690 Premium

default

The most advanced BX model to date, the 23.9-hp BX2690 Premium features an electronically controlled engine, full-colour LCD display, programmable engine-speed settings and joystick-integrated throttle-up functionality, which provides on-demand, fingertip access to preset engine speeds for faster hydraulic response and more engine power during loader work.

“The Premium is going to take all the Deluxe has to offer but takes it one step further with that industry exclusive electronic engine,” McDonald said.

Backhoe models

The BX2390S and BX2690S Premium are backhoe-equipped configurations featuring the new BT604 backhoe, a dedicated flip-up seat and an automatic stabilizer lock. The BX2690S Premium adds the LA405 loader and enhanced hydraulic performance for greater working capability.

The new BX90 Series will come winter ready. To ensure the new BX90 Series can meet the demands presented by Canadian winters, the machines are tested by Kubota Canada’s engineering department and undergo cold weather testing.

“We make sure that those products that are launched in Canada really meet the needs of our Canadian customers and those good old Canadian winters,” Montagano said.

The new BX90 Series will be available at Kubota dealerships beginning in early 2027.
