Six Toromont Cat dealerships across Eastern Canada are holding local championships for Cat’s Global Operator Challenge, with the first being held in Moncton on Wednesday, June 22nd.
The operators will be competing to advance to the North American regional championships in Clayton, North Carolina in October of this year.
From there, the regional winner will be invited to compete in the international finals at ConExpo in Las Vegas on March 14th, 2023, where Cat will crown one operator a world champion.

The last iteration of Cat’s Global Operator Challenge saw Canada’s Jaus Niegum beat out more than 10,000 total entrants from 30 countries in what Cat called “a legendary run to the title.”
“I’ve been operating Cat machines for more than 15 years. Having the opportunity to demonstrate my skills and compete against peers from around the world was one of the most rewarding experiences in my career,” reflected Niegum.
On the 2022-23 iteration of the competition, Niegum commented: “If you’re an operator of heavy equipment, this is a contest you don’t want to miss. And, if you’re a business owner like me and my partners, I encourage you to put forward your best operators, because this competition is going to be even bigger and better than the last one.”
