The BM Group of Companies has announced its acquisition of Sanderson Concrete Inc, adding to its portfolio of construction, project management, material supply and land development companies.
In July of 2020, BM Group made a similar move, acquiring Vancouver Ready Mix and Fraserway Prekast.
According to the company, the acquisition of Sanderson will allow for an expansion of its product offerings in the precast industry.
“Sanderson has been producing quality products for nearly a century,” said Milan Mann, president of real estate development and construction at the BM Group. “They are simply the best at what they do in architectural precast. We wanted to acquire the best in class, and I think we’ve done that here.”
Founded in 1929 by the Sanderson family in Vancouver, Sanderson Concrete established itself as a manufacturer of sumps, manholes and landscaping products such as patio slabs and small decorative planters.
Since then, the company has built a reputation as a manufacturer of a wide range of standard and custom precast concrete products for the landscape and construction industries.
According to BM Group, acquiring Sanderson was a natural step in its expansion, as both companies shared similar clientele and would have been considered competitors in a small industry.
“It was clear that the BM Group cared about the security of Sanderon’s people—our employees and customers—as well as the future of the company,” said Jan Arntorp, owner of Sanderson Concrete. “I am thrilled to be handing the reins to a capable group with such a strong vision, a company that will carry Sanderson Concrete’s legacy to new heights.”
