Develon debuts two Dash 7 ADTs in North America

Building on the proven performance of their predecessors, Develon’s new DA30-7 and DA45-7 articulated dump trucks (ADT) feature a redesigned cab and safety through advanced automation and intuitive technology.

Weighing 30,500-kg, the new DA45-7 ADT is powered by a 483-hp engine and features a 40,600-kg payload.

The 23,300-kg DA30-7 features a 362-hp engine and a 28-tonne payload.

“The most significant update from the previous -5 models to the new DA30-7 and DA45-7 is a completely reimagined interior layout,” said Jay Patel, Product Manager at Develon. “The truck’s interior transitioned from a traditional heavy-equipment feel to a high-end, automotive-inspired environment.”

Auto-Hold brake

Develon has simplified ADT operation on job sites with the new Auto-Hold brake function for hill assist. This new feature provides several key benefits, including:

As well, Develon updated the parking brake switch in the new DA30-7 and DA45-7. The updated parking brake control more closely resembles an automotive-style parking brake. Operators simply pull the lever up to activate the truck’s parking brake. When operators are ready to move the truck, they press down the lever to deactivate it.

New display

The new DA30-7 and DA45-7 ADT comes standard with a 30-cm touch screen display monitor. The upgraded interface provides a large, clear view of critical machine data, status updates and settings. Positioned at eye level, the monitor allows operators to view machine data, gradients and camera feeds without looking down or away from the area in front of them.

Real-time monitoring includes the following:

While the ADT operator environment has seen a complete overhaul, the trucks maintain the mechanical design that Develon ADTs are known for, including a unique driveline that features a front-mounted turning ring to ensures equal weight distribution to the front axle even during maximum steer articulation.

As well, the free-swinging rear tandem bogie provides permanent six-wheel ground contact and power distribution on difficult terrain.

The hydro-gas front suspension system continues to provide shock absorption and a smoother ride.

Develon ADTs come standard with the My Develon fleet management telematics system. Owners can use a smartphone app or web browser to remotely monitor their ADTs for fuel usage, machine health, operator productivity and more.

Owners can use the telematics tool to monitor an ADT’s active payload meter data to verify that trucks are consistently filled without being overloaded, which protects the machine from excessive wear.
