Skyjack debuts new electric articulating slab booms

Skyjack has developed two new battery-powered electric slab booms that are designed to perform across indoor and outdoor jobsites.

Skyjack’s compact, zero emission, low noise SJ45 AJN and SJ45 ARJN feature a working height starting 15.52 metres.

With a platform capacity of 227 kg, a 1.4 metre jib as standard and a narrow width of 1.5 metres, the SJ45 AJN provides up-and-over access capability of 7.8 metres. This new slab boom offers impressive onsite manoeuvrability and precision to work in confined spaces.

The SJ45 ARJN represents one of the few machines to offer a rotating jib, which provides 180-degree horizontal movement (ANSI) or 132-degree horizontal movement (CE) to allow precise positioning of the platform and increased productivity.

The SJ45 AJN and SJ45 ARJN include outstanding turning capability, combined with Skyjack’s exclusive Skyriser and EasyDrive, to allow for high-level functionality in a wide range of maintenance, industrial, renovation and event applications where ground space is restricted.

The narrow machines are capable of access through double standard doors, offer a low stowed height of 1.98 metre and have a weight under 7,258 kg that increases ease of transport.

The variable-speed brushless electric drive provides exceptional duty cycles, controllability and consistent power, torque and traction. Direct electric AC drive features two-wheel motors operating in parallel to maximize gradeability and efficiency, while speed-sensing traction control reduces loss of traction and tire scrubbing.

At the heart of every Skyjack machine is the proven and simplistic control systems, and the SJ45 AJN and SJ45 ARJN are no different. A single controller system integrates with a colour-coded and numbered wiring system, making these new Skyjack slab booms easy to service and maintain
