Kobelco has introduced the purpose-built SK300SB and SK350SB, which delivers up to 11.9 metres of reach, heavy tool capacity and demolition-focused features.
Designed to provide greater working height than conventional mono boom excavators, the straight boom models combine increased reach and tool capacity with stability, controllability and operator comfort.
Both new machines are purpose-built for demolition applications and equipped to handle a wide range of demolition attachments.
“As the demolition industry continues to evolve, Kobelco is committed to purpose-built machines that address the changing needs of demolition contractors,” said Dan Collins, Director of Product Development for Kobelco Construction Machinery USA.
“The expansion of our demolition lineup reflects that commitment, offering increased reach and tool capacity along with best-in-class quality, comfort and controllability.”
Demolition focused
The straight boom configuration increases working heights compared with conventional boom configurations while supporting substantial demolition tool capacities. The choice of standard or long arm configurations allows contractors to balance increased reach with greater tool capacity based on the requirements of the application.
The SK300LC-11 and SK350LC-11 straight boom are powered by a 265-hp Isuzu Tier 4 Final engine utilizing SCR/DEF emissions technology. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is not required. The engine provides the power and torque needed to operate heavy demolition attachments in demanding applications.
A case drain circuit comes standard, expanding compatibility with attachments requiring increased hydraulic drainage.

Kobelco’s in-cab hydraulic pressure release function simplifies attachment changes by allowing the operator to release hydraulic pressure from inside the cab before disconnecting tools or hydraulic hoses.
The SK300LC-11 is available with a standard 3.1-metre arm, delivering an 11-metre maximum reach and 3,950-kg maximum tool capacity weight. Equipped with the 4-metre long arm, the SK300LC-11 has an 11.9-metre maximum reach and 3,610-kg maximum tool capacity.
With its 3.3 metre standard arm, the SK350LC-11has an 11.3-metre maximum reach and 4,910-kg maximum tool capacity. Equipped with a 4.1-metre long arm, its maximum reach extends to 11.9 metres with a 4,240-kg maximum tool capacity.
Operator comfort
The cab is designed to combine comfort, visibility and intuitive controls for demanding demolition applications. A seven-way adjustable heated air-suspension seat moves together with the armrests and hydraulic controls to help reduce operator fatigue and absorb shock. As well, redesigned pilot levers feature shorter strokes and horizontal movement for precise, responsive machine control.
A large 25-cm colour monitor and jog dial provide convenient access to machine settings, attachment flow adjustments, maintenance information and fuel consumption data.
The monitor also displays a 270-degree view from the standard three-camera system, helping improve visibility around the machine. Hydraulic flow settings for breakers, nibblers and rotating grapples can be adjusted through the monitor, while settings for additional attachments can be added or changed to match operator and application requirements.
Additional cab features include automatic climate control, Bluetooth hands-free audio, USB charging and LED-backlit controls.
Demolition safety
Both machines incorporate a range of features designed to enhance operator protection and machine visibility on demolition jobsites. The cab incorporates a Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) along with heavy-duty Level II top and front guarding designed for demolition environments.
Rear swing flashers and rear-facing work lights are integrated into the counterweight to help increase machine visibility. A total of seven LED work lights are standard, including two boom-mounted lights, two mounted at the front of the cab, one on the right side of the machine and two rear-facing lights integrated into the counterweight.
KOMEXS
The new machines can be equipped with Kobelco’s KOMEXS (Kobelco Monitoring Excavator System), which provides owners and fleet managers with remote access to key machine information, including operating hours, fuel consumption, maintenance status and machine location. Additional functions include an engine start alarm, geofencing and current and historical machine location information, providing added visibility for contractors managing equipment across multiple jobsites.
